Perfect Pita Pizza
I don’t know about you, but weekends are for pizza. Frozen pizzas are ok in a pinch, but why not make your own peronsal cheese pizza—all the flavor, without the guilt. Joseph’s Pita Bread makes an excellent pizza crust.
I love making these when I am craving pizza. So simple to make and actually bake in less time than some of the frozen pizzas on the market.

Step by Step Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Spray pita with olive oil cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil and bake for about 7-8 minutes to crisp the crust. Bake longer for a crispier crust.

Once the crust is baked to your liking, remove it from the oven and add your toppings. I like to use Ragu pizza sauce, but any pizza sauce or tomato sauce will work.

Now the fun part. Add your toppings. This is where you can really get creative. This particular night I wasn’t too adventurous and just went with cheese. You can add your favorite meat or veggie toppings.

Once you have topped your pizza, return to the oven and bake another 7-8 minutes or until the cheese has melted.

You can also top with pepperoni to make the perfect pita pepperoni pizza. Turkey pepperoni is a great choice if you are watching calories.

I like to top my pizza with crushed red pepper flakes to give it that added heat. Pair your personal cheese pizza with a fresh side salad and lite dressing, and you have the ideal low-calorie lunch or dinner.
